Bobby Petrino’s dismissal has rocked the Arkansas football program, and sent athletic director Jeff Long in search of a new coach. Not exactly good timing. So who are the top three candidates for the job? Here are a few potential candidates.

The hot name in the Arkansas coaching search is Arkansas State head coach Gus Malzahn. Let’s pump the brakes on that.

Taver Johnson is short on experience and he’s still relatively new to the program, but athletic director Jeff Long was impressed enough with him to tab Johnson to navigate Arkansas through these rocky waters in the short term.

Garrick McGee took the UAB head coaching job this offseason, after spending the last four seasons on Petrino’s staff at Arkansas.
