Scott Speed has the kind of arrogance that is vary endearing. He is confident and has the attitude that I feel is missing in many NASCAR drivers and yes that includes the most boring person in a major sport, the three time champion, what's his name?
His experience as an F1 driver, unlike the other F1 transfer, has translated well to stock car racing. He seemed to progress faster than Juan Pablo Montoya and that shows me he may be the most underrated talent in NASCAR.
Will all that attitude bring him wins in his rookie year? You can bet your sweet bibi it will. Red Bull has no economic issues as they make plenty of money selling vitamin water that probably costs a penny to make and sells for four bucks. Now that is a smart company.
The formula for success in NASCAR is all with Scott Speed—good cars, good crew, and plenty of money. No one on that crew is worried about loosing their job.
Everyone speaks about "sliced bread" and he may turn out to be the greatest driver ever. Who knows. You most admit, he has been overrated, agree?
One of the reasons I think Scott Speed will have a more successful season than Joey Logano is maturity. Scott is 25-years-old and has traveled to every continent, racing against some of the best race car drivers in the world. Joey Logano is only 18 or 19 and will be driving against much better talent than he did in ARCA and you could even say in Nationwide.
Well, that is my pick for rookie of the year and I'll go out "on the plank" mate and say he will win twice in 2009. He really does not know he is not supposed to win. That is the beauty of Scott Speed.
