La Blaugrana started to win all of their matches since the UEFA Champions League (UCL) match against Bayer Leverkusen. The UCL match with Lionel Messi scoring five goals and Cristian Tello scoring two proved to be the catalyst that Barca needed.
With the exception of one scoreless draw against AC Milan during the UCL, they won all of their La Liga matches. Messi has been instrumental in each match with his ability to score goals.
Xavi Hernandez, Alexis Sanchez and Tello have been active in Barca's La Liga BBVA matches with their goals. La Blaugrana has managed to fare well with their discipline, tenacity and ability to block opponents in spite of injury and illness.
An example was the latest victory by FC Barcelona's 4-0 victory over Getafe.
Real Madrid was able to impress in the UCL against CSKA Moscow and APOEL Nicosia. Unfortunately, Los Merengues allowed themselves to be complacent in their matches against La Liga BBVA opponents.
The scoreless draw in the match against Valencia at Real Madrid's home stadium of Santiago Bernabeu was a disgrace. Goal declared Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo the "flops" of the match between Los Merengues and Valencia.
The future is dependent on the remaining La Liga BBVA matches played by both teams. At the present rate, FC Barcelona will win their remaining matches and surpass Real Madrid in the La Liga BBVA tables.
In the next El Clasico, La Blaugrana will defeat Los Merengues because of the same discipline and tenacity that helped the former. Barca will also receive stimulus from defeating Chelsea in the UCL to advance to the finals.
FC Barcelona 3, Real Madrid 2 in El Clasico
