2012 USL PRO Power Rankings: Week 1

Only a few matches took place in USL PRO to open up the 2012 season, but we do have some movement.

Orlando City remain at the top of our list after shutting out the Charlotte Eagles to open the year. Let's take a look at the rankings.

1. Orlando City

Adrian Heath's Orlando City are at the top of Week 1's rankings after a 2-0 shutout victory over the Charlotte Eagles.

Dennis Chin opened the scoring in the third minute of play. Kevin Molino slammed the door shut in the 90th minute thanks to Matt Luzunaris.

Up next for the Lions is a match with the Wilmington Hammerheads. Kickoff at the Citrus Bowl is scheduled for April 15 at 6 p.m. ET.

2. Wilmington Hammerheads

David Irving's Wilmington Hammerheads were off last week.

The Hammers open their season on Apr. 15 against Orlando City. Kickoff at the Florida Citrus Bowl is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.

3. Charleston Battery

Michael Anhaeuser's Charleston Battery opened the 2012 USL PRO season with a 2-1 victory over the Richmond Kickers.

Jose Cuevas scored a brace in the 41st and 67th minutes to pace the Battery.

Charleston continues their season with another meeting with Richmond at Blackbaud Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for April 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

4. Rochester Rhinos

Jesse Myers's Rochester Rhinos were off this past week.

Rochester opens up the season on April 14 against the Los Angeles Blues at Titan Stadium on the campus of California State University, Fullerton in Fullerton, Calif. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET.

5. Harrisburg City Islanders

Bill Becher's Harrisburg City Islanders were off this week.

Harrisburg opens up the 2012 season on Apr. 20 against the Charlotte Eagles. Kickoff at Charlotte Christian Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

6. Richmond Kickers

Leigh Cowlishaw's Richmond Kickers were forced to eat humble pie as they fell 2-1 to the Charleston Battery at City Stadium.

Stanley Nyazamba recorded the only goal for Richmond in the 45th minute of play.

The Kickers return to action on April 14 when they face the Battery again at Blackbaud Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

7. Los Angeles Blues

Charlie Naimo's Los Angeles Blues were off this past weekend.

Los Angeles open the season on April 14 against the Rochester Rhinos at Titan Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET.

8. Antigua Barracuda

It was a split week for Tom Curtis's Antigua Barracuda FC, who split a pair of matches with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

After dropping the April 6 contest 1-0, the Barracudas recorded their first victory of the season, a 3-1 victory over Pittsburgh.

Stefan Smith recorded a brace in the 43rd and 81st minutes, while Quinton Griffith opened up the scoring in the 31st minute of play.

Up next for Antigua Barracuda is a couple of matches against the Charlotte Eagles at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in St. John's. Kickoff for the April 26 match is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, while the April 28 contest is set for 4:30 p.m. ET.

9. Pittsburgh Riverhounds

Justin Evans's Pittsburgh Riverhounds split a pair of matches this past week. On April 6, Pittsburgh defeated Antigua Barracuda 1-0 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Mike Seth scored the only goal of the match, in the 41st minute.

Orlando City...to the next level.

In the second match, held on April 8, the Hounds lost their bite and were sent to the dog pound 3-1. Michael Green's goal in the 88th minute was mere consolation to a split weekend for Pittsburgh.

The Riverhounds return to action on April 21 when they host the Dayton Dutch Lions. Kickoff at Chartiers Valley High School is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

10. Charlotte Eagles

Mark Steffens's Charlotte Eagles opened the 2012 USL PRO season with a 2-0 defeat to Orlando City.

The Eagles will look to bounce back on Friday, April 13, when they face the Dayton Dutch Lions at Charlotte Latin Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

11. Dayton Dutch Lions

Ivar van Dinteren's Dayton Dutch Lions were off this week.

Dayton open the season on April 13 against the Charlotte Eagles at Charlotte Latin Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
