The last Yankees team to begin the season winless through its first three games finished the year with 114 victories. It's a fact that came up once more today, when the Rays beat the Yankees 3-0 to complete a three game sweep. "He wasn't real happy," said manager Joe Girardi, a member of the 1998 team, who drew the ire of late owner George Steinbrenner after stumbling out of the starting gate.
