Christian Cage & His Potential Return To The WWE

I've been out of the loop as far as all things wrestling go, but I must admit I was somewhat mystified when I heard that Christian Cage may or may not be parting ways with TNA to go back to the WWE.

My first thoughts on this were something along the lines of "great, now he can go back to the WWE and be underrated again" and "super, another Edge & Christian angle".

Honestly, if he is headed back to the WWE, the LAST thing I want to see is him involved with Edge.  E&C was great in the Attitude era, but that's just the thing: we've seen it.  Same goes for an Edge vs. Christian rivalry (2001).

Cage is a main-event caliber performer and needs to be utilized as such. If he truly is the reason for all these incidents with Jeff Hardy, as has been rumored, then I am all for it.  Christian as a heel is one of the things that made me really love wrestling.  The guy has personality and is a very solid worker, something that I can't say about Jeff Hardy.

But I can't help think that he'll suffer the same fate Chris Jericho did when he initially returned: huge buzz, a strong push and then right back into the mid-card.  It would be a waste of time for Cage and a waste of his talents.  Didn't he leave the WWE because he was under appreciated?

I really hope that Vince and the rest of the creative team can get this right and utilize Cage the way he should be.  Otherwise, this is just another useless trip down Memory Lane and a waste of a tremendous performer.
