By now I think everyone knows that last night saw the triumphant return of former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. He came out during a John Cena promo, in which he was congratulating The Rock, and F5'd him, which made the fans go crazy.

Does this mean that we are going to be seeing a yearlong feud now between Brock and Cena leading up to next year's WrestleMania?

Let's hope not...

Rumour has it that Brock has been booked with a number of appearance over the next year, which suggests his return isn't simply just a WrestleMania match. We could see him face a whole host of other competitors at the other major PPVs, such as SummerSlam or Survivor Series. Though with such a huge return for Lesnar the night after WrestleMania, it can be assumed that these other matches (he may have) will lead up to one big match at the granddaddy of them all!

This raises the question however what big matchup would be big enough to rival that of John Cena vs. The Rock this year? In my opinion there are only three real bouts Brock Lesnar could compete in to increase the show's buy rate:

1. John Cena

The Rock and John Cena made match hype work due to the amazing chemistry the two superstars have and their buckets of potential. Lesnar on the other hand is not a man of words more of a man of actions and year long feud can't be based on actions alone.

Unless Brock's appearances are spaced few and far apart costing Cena matches here and there this feud could get old very quickly. That maybe why Lesnar might have a match coming up at another PPV against Cena in order to get him over for an even bigger blockbuster match at WrestleMania?

This, however, would be the wrong move for the WWE to take. Cena has now lost his last four huge matches:

- vs The Miz (WrestleMania 27)
- vs CM Punk (Money in the Bank)
- vs CM Punk (SummerSlam)
- vs The Rock (Wrestlemania 28)

Although he always performs incredibly well in these big-match environments, he isn't getting those big wins at the moment. Having him lose yet another massive match would make the WWE's top dog look incredibly weak in both the short run and the long run.

If John Cena vs Brock Lesnar was going to happen at WrestleMania, Cena would have to go over for the sake of the companies current roster.

2. The Rock

It is a fact that Brock Lesnar and The Rock are probably the two biggest Box Office drawers WWE currently have to offer. Having them face off 1-on-1 at WrestleMania would put the buy rate for the event through the roof, attracting both older fans and (possibly) some UFC fans.

Either superstar could go over in this match but you could only really see The Rock coming away with the win. He has never beaten Lesnar in a big match and with his win against Cena Sunday night you would have to say he would able to win. But then again the WWE loves to throw curve balls.

The only problem with such a match would be that both superstars would probably receive a lot of heat from other WWE employees. Both would be performing on a semi-active basis yet they would more than likely get top billing at the big event. While the big men behind-the-scenes don't seem to pay a whole lot of a attention to backstage antics this could definitely cause some upset.

Looking at these two as whole, one could really see this being booked for next year maybe even with the WWE Championship on the line. WWE superstars won't be happy with it but pretty much everyone else will!

3. 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin

This is the longest shot out of the three but would probably make for the best angle in the months leading up to WrestleMania. The two have never fought before so it would be something new for all fans plus the reason they have never collided could make for a great storyline.

When Brock Lesnar was included in the WWE '12 video game he did interview for about it, in which he mentions Stone Cold specifically.

As Lesnar says Stone Cold left the WWE before the two ever went head-to-head. This could lead to an angle in which The Freak claims that Austin is scared of him. No superstar has ever really scared the toughest SOB so this could lead to some great promos between the two.

The match itself would draw in tonnes of old-school fans and would be one hell of a show. The two men are great at back and forth brawls and high impact moves. Plus you would have a generally unpredictable matchup where either men could come away with the win. Putting it simply, it would be the best way that Stone Cold and Brock Lesnar could retire from the business.

These are all only possibilities. All of them or maybe none of them will come true but as a long time Lesnar fan i just hope the WWE will simply utilizes him properly. All of these men will have watch their backs for the next year, because once again, "HERE COMES THE PAIN!!!"
