Marc Denis Assigned By Canadiens to the Hamilton Bulldogs
With Carey Price set to lace up the skates sometime this week, the Montreal Canadiens announced today that goaltender Marc Denis has been reassigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Denis, 31, was recalled by the Canadiens on Jan. 1. The Montreal native appeared in one game with the Canadiens this season, turning aside six of the seven shots he faced in 20 minutes of ice time on Jan. 2 in New Jersey.
In 22 games with Hamilton this season, the 6'1", 193-pound Denis posted a record of 14 wins and seven losses with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage. The netminder is currently tied for ninth in the AHL with 14 wins and tied in fourth for shutouts with three.
Denis was also named AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 2, 2008, after recording three wins in as many starts, stopping 96 of 99 shots directed at him.
