Henrik Karlsson will be in between the pipes for only his eighth start of this season as the Flames look for a much-needed win against their Northwest divisional rivals.

Karlsson has been used sparingly this year after an MCL injury in December allowed AHL call-up Leland Irving to take over the backup duties. Karlsson has only played in one NHL period since coming back from injury, with Irving being the one called upon to get all of the Flames' backup starts since December.

The Flames are hoping Karlsson finds a way to get his first win of the season as their playoff chances hang in the balance.

If Calgary loses to Vancouver tonight and the Phoenix Coyotes win, the Flames will be officially eliminated from the postseason race.
