Because of the talent on John Laurinaitis’ squad, his team will prevail in the 10-man tag-team match over the team that Teddy Long put together.
WrestleMania almost always has a match that tries to get as many superstars into the ring as possible. Sometimes it’s a battle royale match, or a “Money in the Bank” match. Then again, other times it’s a “Lumber Jack” match.
This time, it’s a 12-man tag-team match where the stipulation is the winning team will see their manager gain control of both Monday Night Raw and Smackdown.
The rosters look like this:
Team Teddy: Santino Marella (Captain), Great Khali, Zack Ryder, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth and Booker T.
Team Johnny: David Otunga (Captain), Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, The Miz and Drew McIntyre
Taking a look at both rosters, you’ll see that Team Johnny’s roster is stacked with a ton of championships and is much more talented in the ring.
First off, you have three former World Heavyweight Champions (Ziggler,Swagger and Henry) and a former WWE Champion (Miz), compared to Teddy’s team that has two former World Heavyweight Champions (Khali and Booker T).
However, Swagger and Henry have the advantage over Khali and Booker, since both wrestlers have recently held titles in the WWE, while Khali and Booker have barely been active wrestlers this year.
Secondly, you have one of the best workers in the company, Ziggler. He is a budding superstar that is near the top of the mid-card on Raw, and could be a WWE Champion by the end of 2012.
Third, there is the late addition of The Miz. Miz is in an elite category as a heel-champion entering the Main Event at WrestleMania as champion, only to walk out of the match still champion.
Before the Miz, this match could have been swayed over to Teddy’s team since they have R-Truth, Kingston and Ryder. However, the addition of The Miz put his team over the top on the talent level.
Finally, the weaker parts on Team Johnny will not hold their team back, which will not be the case with Team Teddy.
Having Khali, Booker T and Santino on Team Teddy will be their downfall.
Khali barely lasted more than two minutes in Smackdown’s Elimination Chamber. Booker has been retired for the better part of the last two years. And Santino, despite being the United States champion, is still a comedy act that will get steamrolled by Ziggler, Miz or Henry.
The only weak link on Team Johnny is McIntyre. With the four other stronger wrestlers on Team Johnny, they can hide their weakness and carry Mr. Laurinaitis to take control of both Raw and Smackdown.
