Hulk Hogan is one of the greatest superstars in the history of professional wrestling and his name is well known outside of the wrestling world.
For over 30 years, he has etched his name not just in pro wrestling, but in pop culture as well.
Early in his career as a professional wrestler, Hogan dabbled in the movie business. He starred as "Thunder-lips" in Rocky III, which featured Sylvester Stallone.
Hogan starred in over 30 films and for the most part they have been far from "Oscar caliber" but now his first major movie which he was first billed is finally being released on DVD.
According to wwedvdnews.com, Hulk Hogan's debut movie, No Holds Barred, which was released in 1989, will be leaving the WWE's vault and making its way to DVD for the first time.
Hogan starred as the character "Rip," who refused to wrestle for the World Television Network, which was taken over by a ruthless network executive named "Brell" that wanted Rip in order to boost ratings for the network.
The movie also starred Thomas "Tiny" Lister as "Zeus," who later debuted in the WWE and was involved in a major program with Hogan.
No Holds Barred also featured several pro wrestlers and personalities such as Bill Eadie (Ax of Demolition), Stan Hansen, Howard Finkel, Gene Okerlund and Jesse Ventura.
The movie was met with mixed reviews and many wrestling fans didn't think it was Hogan's best performance.
But with the release of the film on DVD, the hardcore Hulk Hogan fans will no doubt line up to purchase this "gem" and add it to their collection.
The film's DVD release is scheduled for July 3rd, 2012.
