WrestleMania 28: Who Will Steal the Spotlight on April 1st?
wrestlingvalley.org

Ladies and gentleman, we are approaching the biggest event of the year, WrestleMania 28.  On April 1st, we will possibly be witnesses to the greatest WWE event of all time.  The event will include the matches of The Rock vs. John Cena, CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho, and Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus, among others.

That begs the question, what match will steal the show on Sunday?

We know that the main event will be John Cena vs. The Rock.  The WWE has built this match up over the past year.  The success of this event relies on the fans' interest in tuning into this match.  In my eyes, this match will live up to its hype, but will not steal the spotlight.  This article is geared towards a show-stealer, not the main event.

Another match on the card will be Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship.  This match has the possibility of being one of the better matches on the card, but will fall short.  The WWE has built up the gimmicks of both superstars, but little time developing animosity between the two individuals, and it will show on the biggest stage of them all.

The “End of an Era” match between Triple H and the Undertaker should be a classic showdown.  As a fan that grew up in the “Attitude Era,” this match brings with it some nostalgia.  I could not think of a better way to end the era, and possibly all three superstars' careers.  Hopefully, the WWE will allow the superstars to be involved in a brutal battle that rivals “Hell in a Cell” matches of the past.

There are several matches that are there to fill the card and have no real shot at being the “Match of the Night."  These include Team Teddy vs. Team Johnny, the diva tag team match and Randy Orton vs. Kane.

This leaves us with one match.

In my opinion, the show stealer at WrestleMania 28 will be CM Punk taking on Chris Jericho for the WWE Championship.

This match has had some of the best build up going into Sunday.  Chris Jericho has pulled off a remarkable job of making this feud personal.  He has delivered very personal remarks to CM Punk over the last few weeks, and CM Punk has done a great job on handling the messages from Jericho and responding accordingly.

Of course, Christian got the worst end of CM Punk’s temper but that only added to this match.  Fans are unsure about the exact mindset of CM Punk going into Sunday.  This should be very interesting to see.

In addition, these are arguably two of the best in-ring performers of the last 20 years.  Fans will be treated to one hell of a technical wrestling match on Sunday.  These two will work their behinds off for the fans, and that should translate well on-screen.  Fans will be able to see the passion that they perform with and the pure animosity between these two in the ring.

I think WrestleMania 28 will be one of CM Punk’s greatest WrestleMania moments of all time.
