Steve Spagnoulo has reportedly accepted a four year contract to coach the lowly St. Louis Rams.
Spagz was a hot commodity this offseason, but recently it was appearing that he would return to the Giants to as their defensive coordinator.
I felt that he would be picky and only go to a team like the Broncos or Jets.
When only St. Louis and Oakland were left, I thought that he would return to NY for sure because he's better off staying here as a coordinator, then taking a bad job and failing.
He also knew that he basically had the Giants head coaching job locked up once Coach Coughlin's contract runs out.
But now a week after the Giants pitiful performance last Sunday, The poor start to the new year has gotten off even worse with Spagz departure.
Why couldn't they take Kevin Gilbride!
It's going to be interesting to see how the Giants' defense does next season without their stud coordinator.
They are likely to promote from within, so that they can keep the same system, instead of going out and signing someone outside the organization.
Will 2009 get even worse for the Giants?
Or is it only up from here?
