Pavel Datsyuk Not in All-Star Starting Lineup?

As a fan of hockey and as a fan of the Red Wings I would like to say that the All-Star voting disappointed me and is a joke. This may be bias but I got some evidence to prove my point. First to only get two Wings on the team and to have three Blackhawks starting is a joke because I believe Zetterberg should have been there but that’s not the problem.

The problem is that Pavel Datsyuk is not in the starting line-up and there’s three Blackhawks, nothing against them but he should be starting over Toews and anybody else. He is one of the best all around players and play makers in the league and he should be starting.

He is seventh in total points with 52; he’s eighth in assists with 33, 15th in goals with 19. He has one of the best plus/minus out there ranked at tenth with plus 20. Not to mention his face-off percentage is also in the top 10 at 57.2% which ranks him seventh.

In four of the five major categories he is in the top 10 with the exception of goals scored and that’s because he is more of a play maker then scorer. And since we have a bunch of talent he can make plays and play his style of game instead of being a scorer. He also led us to the Stanley Cup last year and was one of the three best players for us.

I cannot understand how he or Nikki Lidstrom are not in the starting-line, both are tops at their positions and have the stats to prove it. It blows my mind and makes me question the voting.
