It takes a team 16 wins to hoist up Lord Stanley’s Cup at the end of the NHL’s tournament.
In the past, there have been some teams who have come in as an eight seed, barley scraping enough points to qualify for the playoffs. However, they caught fire behind a goaltender or a combination of players and rode that excellent play to the finals.
Then again, sometimes a team has steamrolled through their 82-game regular season with one goal in their mind, to be the last team standing at the end of the season as champions. They come into the playoffs as a No. 1 seed and fly through their conference tournament only to destroy whomever was waiting for them in the finals.
These five teams all have a special reason as to why they will be champions at the end of the season.
However, only one team will win those 16 games.
