When John Cena and The Rock embarked on their WrestleMania 28 journey at last year’s event, the WWE universe was uncertain on how much they would care and how the feud would work out.
We sit just days away from the biggest event in professional wrestling history, and the excitement over the greatest generational matchup since Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 18 is palpable.
Fans in the WWE universe were screaming for a physical confrontation between the two before the big show, but WWE wants you to pay for it. Why would they give you the main course when you didn’t even have the appetizer yet?
As hard as it has become for me to say, the WWE is doing this feud in a way that is best for both the stars and the fans. The Rock and John Cena have been given the creative liberty to say what they wanted during this feud, and their ability to say curse words shows just how much power the duo truly yields with the WWE.
This is the battle of the two best stars, at least in the eyes of Vince McMahon and the WWE hierarchy.
Last night’s promo was more of the same and felt like treading water, but with less than week to go, there was no reason to do anything but reinforce the points already made. The bed has been made, it’s just time to figure out which star walks out of Miami as the winner.
John Cena and The Rock have engaged in a war of words over the last few weeks, but just like the match at WrestleMania 28, Cena has walked out as the winner.
If you aren’t excited for this show, you better get to the doctor’s because you may not have a pulse.
What do you think? It doesn’t matter what you think!
(It actually does, so please don’t be offended.)
