The Road to WrestleMania is nearing its end as WWE presents the go-home episode of Monday Night Raw.
Nothing for the show has been confirmed as of this writing, but there is plenty to consider on the Raw side of WrestleMania.
Let’s see what WWE has in store for the fans this week!
Awesome No More: Will the Miz Find His Way onto WrestleMania?
A year ago, the Miz was at the top of the WWE. He was the reigning WWE champion and was in the main event of WrestleMania XXVII.
When he finally did lose the title to John Cena, the Awesome one began his downward spiral. It wasn’t until a few months ago, though, that the Miz’s luck truly ran out.
He began a losing streak that has continued right up until the Grandest Stage of Them All.
The Miz has voiced his frustration over not having a match this year and has lobbied to get onto Team Johnny for WrestleMania.
Team leader John Laurinaitis has given the Miz some chances to prove himself, but his losing streak would continue to plague him.
Last week alone he was defeated by Sheamus on Raw, and he would lose to the Celtic Warrior again in a tag-team match on SmackDown.
The window is closing on WrestleMania, which doesn’t give the Miz much time.
Can the Miz become a member of Team Johnny, or will be find another way onto the card of WrestleMania XXVIII?
The War for Power: Who Will Be the Final Members of Team Johnny and Team Teddy for WrestleMania?
The war for general manager began when John Laurinaitis declared that he wanted to run both Raw and SmackDown.
It escalated with multiple arguments between Laurinaitis and Teddy Long over how the other's show should be run. The board of directors decided to step in to settle the matter once and for all.
They agreed that there should be one general manager and set up a 12-man tag team match at WrestleMania.
Each team will be led by a general manager and feature six wrestlers of their choosing.
Each team is almost complete, as Team Johnny consists of captain David Otunga, Mark Henry, Christian, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger, while Team Teddy is made up of captain Santino Marella, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, Zack Ryder and the Great Khali.
Both general managers need just one more member for their teams.
Will anyone step up to the plate for John Laurinaitis and Teddy Long, or do the general managers already have superstars in mind for their final spots?
An Era Ends at WrestleMania: What Will Undertaker, Triple H and Shawn Michaels Have in Store for Each Other?
Last year at WrestleMania, the WWE Universe saw the Undertaker being carted out of the ring while his opponent, Triple H, walked out on his own power.
The fans had never seen the Deadman like that before, and he disappeared for almost a year because of it.
He returned after the Royal Rumble and made his intentions very clear. He wanted Triple H one more time at WrestleMania.
The Game denied his challenge but after some words with Shawn Michaels and some insults from the Phenom, the Cerebral Assassin agreed to take the match under one condition.
WWE’s chief operating officer wanted to end an era and declared that he wanted Hell in a Cell.
Since then, Shawn Michaels has been appearing on Raw, as he will be the special referee for the match.
This feud has been all talk, as HBK has teased screwing the Undertaker, Triple H has declared that he could defeat the Deadman and the Undertaker has played mind games with the Game by saying that Michaels was better than he was.
With six days until WrestleMania, what will these three megastars do to gain the momentum?
Dark Secrets: As WrestleMania Approaches, Will CM Punk Gain Revenge on Chris Jericho?
When Chris Jericho returned, he stayed silent at first. He didn’t say a word until the Royal Rumble when he implied that he was going to win the match.
While he lost the Rumble, Y2J didn’t let it stop him, as he attacked CM Punk, making his intentions quite clear.
Jericho declared that Punk was just a Y2J wannabe and that he wasn’t the best in the world, as Punk had claimed. Jericho was the best, and he wanted to prove it.
Punk responded by knocking Jericho out cold at the Elimination Chamber PPV, but Jericho would end up becoming the No. 1 contender for Punk’s WWE Championship the very next night.
The battle for “Best in the World” is on for WrestleMania, and the feud has been about even until two weeks ago.
Two weeks ago on Raw, Jericho aired out Punk’s dirty laundry for the WWE Universe as he revealed that Punk’s father was an alcoholic.
The champion was no doubt upset, but last week Jericho surprisingly apologized. The apology didn’t last long, though, as Y2J revealed another one of Punk’s dark family secrets to the world.
He told how Punk's sister had trouble with substance abuse, and that put Punk over the edge.
Punk was so upset that his words to Jericho had to be censored.
Jericho is definitely in the head of the WWE champion now.
Will CM Punk gain some vengeance six days away from WrestleMania, or will Chris Jericho continue to play mind games?
The Biggest Match in WrestleMania History: Will the Rock and John Cena Finally Come to Blows?
The Rock returned to the WWE last year but has only made the occasional appearance due to his busy schedule.
When the Road to WrestleMania went into full force, the Rock started to appear on a more regular basis. With WrestleMania just six days away, the Rock will no doubt appear this week as well.
For the past couple of weeks, he and his WrestleMania opponent, John Cena, have been having a war of words. The momentum has shifted back and forth between the two superstars, but it’s been completely in the corner of the People’s Champion the past two weeks.
Two weeks ago, the fans saw Rock vs. Rap with John Cena delivering a rap to open the show and a Rock concert from the Brahma Bull closing it.
Rock certainly defeated rap that night, and the momentum shifted to the Rock.
Last week, the Rock delivered a great promo by the statue of Rocky Balboa, then he arrived at the arena to deliver a Rock Bottom to Cena’s opponent, Mark Henry.
He delivered the move, glared at Cena then just left.
The People’s Champion delivered a message to the face of the WWE right there and kept the momentum in his corner at the same time.
With WrestleMania inching closer, how will John Cena respond to the Rock’s message? Will they just be all talk again, or will these two stars finally throw a punch?
Last week’s Raw was quite disappointing, but this week is the go-home episode before the biggest show of the year.
The WWE will no doubt step up their game for this episode so that the level of excitement can be raised higher than it already is.
Will this week’s Raw deliver six days before WrestleMania? Tune in to find out.
