Dublin linebacker Johnny O'Neal has chosen to play his college ball in Athens, according to a CBS Sports report Saturday afternoon (March 24).

The West Laurens High School star is ranked by as the No. 9 middle linebacker in the entire nation and sits at No. 88 overall according to his profile.

This is a solid pickup for the Bulldogs, helping to shore up an already improved defense and bringing the 2013 class of commits up to nine so far.

O'Neal is the first and only inside linebacker to give a verbal thus far, and considering none were signed to the 2012 class, he becomes an important piece of the depth chart going forward.

The high school junior was recruited by Georgia secondary coach Scott Lakatos, who has been on Mark Richt's staff since the 2010 season and has been able to help secure several solid 3-star and 4-star recruits since arriving in Athens.
