WWE News: Who Have Been Edge's Final Opponent in His Original Retirement Plans?

Following defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto Del Rio at last year’s WrestleMania, Edge revealed that he would be forced to retire from professional wrestling due to a nagging neck injury that he suffered earlier in his career.

With his career cut short at the age of 38, who would have been the former 11-time world champion’s pick to be his opponent in his final match if Edge could have left the WWE on his own terms?

After being mentioned as a dream WrestleMania match by fans through the years, Edge would have selected his former tag-team partner Christian to be his final match at this year’s WrestleMania in Miami before finishing his run with the WWE.

Personally, I would have loved to see Edge take on Christian at this year’s WrestleMania as it could have been the proverbial icing on the cake with the fantastic card that’s already lined up for the event next Sunday.

Instead of the World Heavyweight Championship match between champion Daniel Bryan and Sheamus this year, I think the build up for a match between Edge and Christian for the world championship would have made for a possibly better match than Bryan and Sheamus.

So Bleachers, would you have liked to see Edge take on his long-time tag-team partner and friend, Christian, at a WrestleMania if he didn’t retire from his neck injury?
