Some say that NBA All-Star Weekend just ain't what it used to be. The NBA All-Star Game is a bit more of a joke than ever, so unless people have phenomenal games, it's just a bunch of guys screwing around. The Rookie-Sophomore Game and D-League All-Star Game aren't the most popular events ever. The Slam Dunk Contest and Three-Point Challenge are cool, although the Dunk Contest, apparently, just ain't what it used to be. Few real basketball fans care that much about the Celebrity Game. The Skills Challenge, however, is garnering some publicity. Many basketball fans are calling for new events in the All-Star Weekend, and a lot of people would like to see other competitions like the Skills Challenge, among other things. Here are some ideas for new possibilities:

Self-Explanatory Physical Competitions:

Basketball fanatics frequently debate who the fastest player in the NBA is, or who has the best hops. I'm sure having something similar to the Draft Combine among the most physically gifted on the national stage would be entertaining.

Old Timer's Game:

How about those guys from the TNT Halftime Show cut the big talk and show that they still got it?

Free Throw Challenge:

Find the best free-throw shooters. Have them shoot until they miss, one person at a time. If they don't miss after a while, throw in funny distractions.

H-O-R-S-E:

Bring it back!

One-on-One/Two-on-Two/Three-on-Three:

Who doesn't want to see who the "king of the hill" would be? Or, team guys up and let them show who the best is.

If you have any other ideas, let me know.
