Duke freshman guard Austin Rivers is planning to enter the 2012 NBA Draft.
ESPN.com is reporting that Rivers will "make a formal announcement next week."
Rivers was the Blue Devils leading scorer, averaging 15.5 points per game.
He was selected as the 2012 ACC Rookie Of The Year Award.
His departure is not a surprise. Many thought that his plan was to play only one year of college ball at Duke.
If Rivers does leave, the Duke backcourt would be less crowded and would make room for Seth Curry to be the lead perimeter scorer for the 2012-13 team.
