As we speak, David Beckham is sitting on 99 caps for his beloved England.
After the pain of being left out of Fabio Capello's first squad, David Beckham is again fighting to be fit—this time for England's friendly clash with France on the 26th of March.
The former England skipper is currently in preseason training with his club, LA Galaxy. Becks realizes he has an uphill battle to prove to Capello he is fit enough to do the job, but he simply won't give up on that 100th cap!
At 32, I personally think if Beckham is fit and playing well then he can still do a job for England. It's a shame he ran away for the money in the U.S. though, as he certainly shot himself in the foot. (That's what McClaren originally thought and I'm sure Capello feels the same.)
So will Capello warm again to Beckham? Only time will tell on that one, but what do you think? Does he deserve it? Can he still do a job?
Or should he just give up and ring Mr. Spielberg?

Beckham can still do a great job for England, albeit one that may be limited to appearances as an impact substitute. If only the majority of players showed his desire to play for his country then I dare say that England would have found themselves in Austria and Switzerland this summer.
Indeed, there’s a lot of “ifs” you could say about Beckham’s international career, “if” McClaren hadn’t have left him out, would he have even gone to the MLS? Who knows? But he’s over there now and it hasn’t made him lose any of the abilities he’s always had, even though he might not get the opportunities to test them against the toughest of opponents to really prove himself.
I reckon it was partly a family decision as well, his kids are growing up now and pretty much all of school age and he had to think about whether he wanted them growing up in Spain or somewhere where they could adapt to the language and culture better. I guess the money came into it, but then again, the guy is hardly poor and how much money does he need?!
But he can definitely still do a job for England. Wright-Phillips continues to flatter to deceive – a start in the Carling Cup final and an a woeful perfomance show why Mourinho never picked him and trusted him to perform in the big games. Lennon has more potential but little consistency in his final delivery. Bentley is improving but needs to test himself more in Europe.
I for one, still think Beckham is one of England’s best 23 players and would have him in the squad every time. His technique, delivery and passion are second to none.

I think victoria egged him on to go to USA for her own gain. she's flaunting whatever's left of her body in LA and getting loads of money and fame. I don't really think Beckham wanted to go to USA. Victoria's up herself, but David is quiter and more modest. He's great for the England squad. He's shown the most commitment and desire. He's not just doing it for the money.

Beckham is still a good player, but he is playing in a shitty league. So Maestro Capello knows Beckham did not compete at at a good level since he left Madrid. Talent is one thing being competitive is another one. It is sad for Beckham, I never thaught of him like that, I thaught he still had to prove something on the European level, maybe move to Italy or go back to England. As for the game against France, I hope he will make it, We always beat England when Beck is in the team. And the game during Euro 2004 was just the second best game game of Zidane's reign.
Go Beckham, Go Posh !!!!!
