Now that Millen is gone and the worst season in NFL history is over, the Detroit Lions can begin to rebuild.
Here is what I think will happen: the Lions will look at a QB to start and pass on Matt Stafford. They go with building there defense and O-line.
I sprinkled in two offensive players that could make an impact in the passing game, and NO they are not wide receivers.
Newly named head coach, Jim Schwartz will want to leave his fingerprint on the roster. The first two picks, will be stars in the new Lions defense.
Curry is a beast of a player. He could be a linebacker- D line hybrid. The Lions could use him in a variety of ways.
Curry is a "Baltimore Raven" type player. What I mean by that, is that he is a beast and plays with a mean streak like Terrell Suggs or Ray Lewis.
The Ohio State had a very impressive defense this year lead by senior middle linebacker Laurinaitis.
Ernie Sims could use some help, and the Lions run defense sure could use his big hitting. Ever heard of Brian Urlacher? This is the next Urlacher.
Sticking with the Buckeye theme, at 6'8" and 313 lbs, this monster Tackle could provide protection for whichever QB is throwing for Detroit next year.
A leader on the Bearcat defense, Smith could be a valuable return man and much needed piece to a secondary with huge holes in it of Detroit.
I know I'll take some heat on this one, but everyone knows Detroit wants a franchise QB. If Dan Orlavosky doesn't come back then I think this the QB for Detroit. Give him and Stanton a chance if Daunte can't stay healthy.
I live in Winston- Salem, NC and have had the chance to see Chip play a few times. He is very athletic and runs the field with ease. He is great at closing off the sidline and handing out bone crushing hits to knock out the ball.
If Vandenheuvel is still on the board there is no way you can pass on this talent at tackle. Eric is 6'8" and 234 lbs. Line him up with Alex Boone at the other tackle and you have a monsterous O- line.
Hughes is a shut down corner and is one the fastest players coming out of the Pac 10.
This would be a steal for Detroit. Ingram stands at 6'4" and 230 lbs and would be a monster target up the middle. He could be a great help in the catching game with Calvin Johnson, and could be a fantastic blocker for Kevin Smith.
This year 171 players filed for free agency. Of the 171 total free agents, 99 are from the National League and 72 are from the American League...
If somebody had told you three months ago that, 12 weeks into the season, the New York Giants would be 6-5 and one false move away from missing the postseason, you would have called them crazy...
The college football gods could not have lined it up better. Last night the PAC-10 had its championship game, even though it’s technically not a championship game. The Ducks had everything in a row and took care of the Beavers in the fourth quarter...
