New York Jets: Tim Tebow and Joe Namath, How Do They Match Up?

0 of 10

It's official.  Tim Tebow is now with the New York Jets.

So is the former Denver Bronco quarterback ready for the New York?  Better yet, is New York ready for Tim Tebow?

The Big Apple is infamous for welcoming athletes whose hype sometimes precedes their talent.  But there are those rare few who actually live up to the greatness that is thrust upon them.

One of those figures was Joe Namath.  Namath, the outgoing, charismatic, play-caller, is the only field general to lead this organization to a Super Bowl victory.

Could Tim Tebow be the next Joe Namath?  Only time will tell.

However, surprising as it may sound, these two very different personalities’ career paths have shared many similarities.

Here is a look at how these two quarterbacks stack up against each other.

Tebow was the 25th selection in the first round by the Denver Broncos.

Tebow’s infamous Tebowing pose will follow him for the rest of his life.

Again, this one is no contest.  When it comes to a holier-than-thou attitude, Tebow will always come out on top.

    No pun intended.

Namath made famous his Fu Manchu mustache.

Although it didn't catch on as a trend, Tebow did turn a lot of heads with his Friar Tuck look.

Both Namath and Tebow’s Jets head coach each had a unique trait.

For Namath, it was his name, Weeb Ewbank.

For Tebow, it is his foot hobby.
