More Legal Trouble For Roger Clemens

It seems like Roger Clemens is digging an even deeper hole these days. According to the New York Daily News, a former major league baseball player told congress that Roger joked in the clubhouse that his wife, Debbie, compared boob jobs with Jose Canseco's wife during his 1998 party that's now become a serious question.

Roger has stated many times that he never attended the party at Jose Canseco's house, while Brian McNamee claimed Roger did. During the February 13th hearing in front of congress, the investigators interviewed Roger's former nanny, who said Roger and his wife were both there.

If this is the case, this has to give congress even more fire power to go after Roger for perjury.

But what I still don't get is why Roger and his legal team thought that denying that he was at Jose Canseco’s 1998 party was such a great defense. It’s not just that Canseco put in his book “Juiced” that Roger himself was on the juice. It’s not just that Jose verified in that book that baseball players used the phrase “B-12 shot” as a euphemism for steroids. It’s also that Clemens and his lawyers didn’t count on other people at the party being able to recall so much.

Then you have the report last week that there apparently are photos of Roger at Canseco’s party, taken by an 11-year-old at the event.  Roger denied, denied, denied, but the new evidence prompted Rusty Hardin to say that Roger was playing golf at the time of the party, but may have stopped by the house before heading to the ballpark before the game.
