As the nation gears up for tomorrow’s Sweet 16 openers, the biggest question in basketball is—which teams will survive the weekend? All four No. 1 seeds are still in the running for the 2012 Final Four, but there are plenty of underdogs to worry about as well.
One team that fans shouldn’t expect to see make it out of its regional is the third-seeded Baylor Bears, who have won their first two games in spite of frontcourt performances ranging from nondescript to dreadful.
That inconsistency from the forwards cost Baylor in the Big 12 title game, and it’s going to ensure that they get no further than an Elite Eight showdown with top-seeded Kentucky (if they even get past surprising Xavier on Friday night).
Which teams will be competing in New Orleans, and what’s going to happen once they get there? Take a look at this set of projected answers for what to expect from the 2012 Final Four.
