Tim Tebow Trade Rumors: QB Is Ideal Candidate to Make Jaguars Relevant

Jun 7, 2018

The Jacksonville Jaguars need to trade for Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, and to be perfectly honest, it has nothing to do with X's and O's.

Tebow is a brand that would bring the Jacksonville franchise into the spotlight of the NFL once again.

As much as Tebow may not fit the offensive schemes that new head coach Mike Mularkey is trying to install, he will work around the talent he is given. Just like he did while being the Atlanta Falcons' offensive coordinator.

Jacksonville has been in the bottom half of the NFL since 2006 in terms of attendance, but that would all change if Tim Tebow was their quarterback. The polarizing star not only would bring the massive following he has already built with the NFL run he had in Denver, but he also has the added benefit of being a Florida legend.

Tebow became the greatest Florida Gator of all time and also attended high school in the Jacksonville area, winning a National Championship there as well.

Despite the fact that Jacksonville drafted Blaine Gabbert in the first round and signed Chad Henne in the offseason, there is serious talk that the ownership may be pushing to bring the native son home.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan told WOKV.com about his regrets about the team not drafting Tebow:

"

100% I would have. When is the next time Jacksonville is going to have an athlete like Tim Tebow. He has the fire in the belly, the technical competency to win.

"

If the owner wants Tebow in Jacksonville, they will do what it takes to make that deal happen. Even if it means overpaying.

While the addition of Tebow would most likely end Blaine Gabbert’s short tenure in Jacksonville, it would begin the new era of watching the Jaguars turn into the Broncos' offense from last year. The main difference, though, will be Maurice Jones Drew.

MJD is one of the best running backs in the NFL and his pairing with Tebow will create one of the most dangerous offenses in the league. They will have to find the right wide receivers for Tebow’s skill set, but the Jags' offense will be all about the run.

Whether the experiment with Tebow in Jacksonville works or not, the publicity it causes would have the Jaguars placed firmly back into relevancy. That’s what they need.
