Premier League Transfers: 11 Biggest Summer Rumours

0 of 11

Premier League summer transfer rumours continue to pop as the season enters its final stretch.

With players like Eden Hazard and Jan Vertonghen, we know England is the most likely destination. How many other big stars will be switching teams within the league, or coming in from abroad?

Either way, the Premier League has some of the greatest talent in World Football right now and these rumours speculated that there may be more on the way.

Here are some of the biggest Premier League summer transfer rumours in recent weeks.

Three Big Clubs After Moussa Dembele

1 of 11

According to Talksport.com, Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in Fulham attacker, Moussa Dembele.

The Belgian has put on some good displays for Fulham this season and may just find himself at a big club in the summer. All three clubs are also candidates in the Eden Hazard sweepstakes and may see Dembele as a cheaper backup option if they fall out of the race.

Arsenal and Liverpool Track Schalke Attacker Jose Manuel Jurado

2 of 11

Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Schalke's Spanish attacker Jose Manuel Jurado.

Both clubs have had a few Spanish players over the years with those players differing in productivity and so forth. Jurado hasn't exactly set things alight in the Bundesliga, but he has been linked to Arsenal and Inter in the past.

Chelsea to Line Up Bid for Newcastle Stars

3 of 11

Newcastle's Chiek Tiote and Tim Krul have been integral parts of Newcastle's performance this season. The Independent reports that Chelsea will be looking to make a summer bid for the pair.

While Tiote may be an upgrade on John Obi-Mikel at defensive midfield, it is hardly likely that Krul will join the club. Chelsea has one of the top goalkeepers in the game with Petr Cech between the sticks and there really is no need for change at that position.

If, for some reason, Cech does leave, Krul would certainly be a great replacement given his form this season.

Chelsea Linked to Hulk Again

4 of 11

Chelsea has been linked with Hulk again. This time, thanks to the Telegraph. The article mentions that the London club is trying to negotiate a respectable fee for the Brazilian attacker.

"According to sources in Portugal, Porto are now prepared to re-negotiate Hulk’s contract and sell the 25-year-old international this summer for significantly less than the €100 million (£85million) release fee.

Up until recently Porto have insisted that the release clause had to be met in full—even if an offer of €99m euros was submitted, according to club president Pinto da Costa—and will publicly continue to maintain that stance.

But it’s now thought, privately, the view has changed after Hulk asked if he could leave and Chelsea followed up an initial inquiry, which was met with some encouragement."

It seems unlikely that Hulk would join the club after they sacked his former boss, Andre Villas-Boas.

Manchester Looking to Strengthen at Right Back

5 of 11

Mathieu Debuchy has been signaled as the man to help solidify Manchester United at the right-back position.

According to the Metro, Sir Alex Ferguson actually went to see the player in action when his club, Lille, took on Lyon.

Since Gary Neville's departure, Rafael has been the main man in that position, but his early season injuries led to players like Chris Smalling and Phil Jones filling the gap. Debuchy would give the Red Devils two full-time right-backs and provide some competition for the Brazilian youngster.

Juventus After Fernando Torres

6 of 11

In one of the few rumours involving a star leaving the Premier League, Goal.com reports that Juventus may bid for the Spanish striker.

Torres got back on the score-sheet for Chelsea over the weekend and both fans and teammates of his club will be hoping that continues.

If it's just another fleeting moment, Chelsea may be intrigued if Juventus can offer a respectable amount for his services.

Arsenal to Face Competition for Olivier Giroud

7 of 11

Aston Villa have joined the race for Montpellier's French striker Olivier Giroud. Both Arsenal and Newcastle have been linked with the player in the past, but there were no signs of real interest.

With Newcastle having bought Papiss Demba Cisse in January and Arsenal trying to hold on to Robin Van Persie whilst occupied with other targets, Villa could end up being the front-runners.

If Montpellier's owner has anything to say it may be that Aston Villa is too small a club for the player, just as Newcastle is in his estimation.

Manchester United in Cash Plus Player Deal for Luka Modric

8 of 11

According to Goal.com, Manchester United will use Dimitar Berbatov's upcoming contract clause to make an extremely good situation for themselves.

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted last week that Berbatov is likely to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season after falling behind Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez in the pecking order.

United believe Berbatov will command £6-8 million in the summer and may try to use the 31-year-old as a makeweight in their attempts to sign top target Luka Modric.

Tottenham will demand at least £40m for the playmaker, which is beyond United’s reach, but there are suggestions within Old Trafford that Berbatov could be included in a bid for the Croat.

It is still unclear whether Tottenham would be interested in re-signing Berbatov, but United are hopeful of signing long-term target Modric, who is stalling over signing a new contract at White Hart Lane.

Italian Giants to Rival Chelsea for Willian's Signature

9 of 11

Shaktar Donestk's Brazilian attacker, Willian, was linked with Chelsea a number of times during the January transfer window. That was while Andre Villas-Boas was in charge.

Recent reports suggest that Chelsea could now face competition from AC Milan in a bid to sign the player.

Arsenal and Liverpool Linked in Transfer Battle Again

10 of 11

According to Talksport.com, Arsenal and Liverpool could lock horns over Udinese players Mauricio Isla and Mehdi Benatia.

While Isla is a versatile player who could fit well into both teams, Benatia is a central defender who may not necessarily be needed.

Arsenal's main defensive problems came from injuries and they may already be looking to strengthen that area with Ajax's Jan Vertonghen, if they feel it is necessary. Liverpool has one of the best defenses in the Premier League this season with Sebastian Coates and Jamie Carragher as backups.

Manchester United After Brazilian Striker

11 of 11

Reports suggest that Manchester United may be looking to add to its talented strike force with Internacional's Leandro Damiao.

With Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez on board, and Federico Macheda waiting in the wings, United has significant depth and talent up front. Dimitar Berbatov isn't on this list because he's more than likely to leave in the summer.

Damaio would make it five strikers for Sir Alex Ferguson to choose from, provided Macheda stays, and no manager would be disgruntled with having those kind of options.
