Oracle Arena is playing host to some awkward reunions these days. On Saturday, Monta Ellis and Ekpe Udoh played their first games as Milwaukee Bucks in Oakland. Tonight, the Warriors plan on honoring Chris Mullin's greatness in rafter form, a few years after he was forced out of the front office. Golden State has a different owner in Joe Lacob, but the organization has retained many figures from the old days.

If Mullin holds any grudges, he doesn't betray it, stating, "I developed a really unique relationship with the fanbase there. It’s another opportunity for me to say ‘Thank you’ to all of my teammates, administrators and front-office people that stuck with me and helped me carve out a nice career in the NBA.”

Don Nelson will be there, most intriguingly. He has been absent from Oracle since getting fired by the Dubs and he also has a particularly fraught relationship with Chris Mullin

Chris Mullin presided over Golden State's "We Believe" run, a brief return to relevance for the woebegone franchise. Since his ouster in 2009, the team has struggled, true to historical form. Perhaps this is the beginning of a reconciliation, and perhaps it doesn't matter because Mullin's quite happy at his current ESPN broadcast job.

Whatever the intrigue, Chris Mullin's halftime ceremony should be a nice respite for Warriors fans who will welcome fond memories during another rough season.

Mullin was one of the greatest shooters of all time. He also had a ridiculous flat top to pair with a thick Brooklyn accent. In short, Mullin was as magnificent as he was memorable for a fanbase bereft of magnificent memories.
