Hockey Fights Cancer in the "A" Leagues

The Eastern Professional Hockey League showed off professionalism and heart last Friday, dedicating a night to the fight against cancer.

The second place Jersey Rockhoppers donned pink jerseys instead of their orange, black, and white colors to benefit the American Cancer Society.  The team ran a silent auction during the game for the pink game-worn jerseys. Some jerseys raised more than $100 a piece.

While the Rockhoppers club fell to the Hudson Valley Bears in a shootout, 3-2, the night can never be considered a loss.  Beyond helping a great charity, the EPHL has shown itself to be a positive force in their home city communities.
