"I will not stay long in boxing because he said: 'You have done enough. You have made yourself famous but this is harmful,'" stated Manny Pacquiao during his interview with DZMM radio.

For those of you who have not clicked and read the above placed link, who do you think advised such a thing to the Filipino boxing sensation?

According to the article, “Philippine boxing hero Manny Pacquiao said on Monday that he had been told by God in a dream to retire soon...”

So, there you have it, God is starting to influence Pacman’s decision in the sport of boxing. Thus, step aside Bob Arum, as you are being replaced.

What can this possibly mean to you and me? One thing that it could potentially mean, and is very unpleasant and frustrating to think about, is that Pacquiao might very well retire before taking on Floyd Mayweather Jr. This would be devastating to boxing as a sport and would certainly hurt the legacy of both men.

Religion is a serious thing, and it should not be easily dismissed. Personally, I respect religion and those who believe, but if Pacquiao makes a move towards retirement when a Mayweather Jr. fight is on the horizon, people might not take it lightly.

Pacquiao has promised to make a major announcement regarding a religious matter sometime later this week.
