Now that a report has come out from TMZ.com, it seems like the accident was in fact a real accident.
John Cena was involved in a car crash today -- the former WWE champ was rear-ended by a tractor trailer, but we're told he's ok and his epic upcoming fight with The Rock is not in jeopardy.
Cena was traveling in an SUV in Philadelphia when he was hit. We're told he is going to get checked out but right now it doesn't seem he was injured ... although signs of whiplash often don't show up for a day or two.
Cena is set to face off with The Rock on April 1 -- and the match has become one of the most anticipated in wrestling history.
Cena should be fine but it is now interesting to see how the writers will tie this into the Rock and Cena's battle.
According to a report from WWE.com, John Cena was in a car accident in Philadelphia Monday morning.
WWE.com has just gotten word that John Cena has been involved in an automobile accident in Philadelphia. The SUV the WWE Superstar was traveling in was reportedly rear ended by a tractor trailer. Police arrived at the scene and no immediate injuries were reported.
Cena is scheduled to meet with WWE medical personnel when he arrives at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center for tonight’s WWE Raw SuperShow event.
In less than two weeks, Cena will face The Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII in the most anticipated bout in WWE history. The effect this accident will have on the Cenation leader remains to be seen. WWE.com will stay with this story as it develops.
Luckily, it seems like Cena is not hurt. This leaves the WWE Universe to wonder whether or not this is real or if it is kayfabe.
If this the latter, then the WWE just added a very weak storyline to the Rock and Cena feud. There would be no reason for this to be involved between the two because it adds nothing to the storyline.
If it is real, then we should all hope that nothing happened to Cena because no on would ever want to see anyone get hurt, regardless of how they feel about them. It seems like John will be okay based on the accident report; if anything he may have some soreness, but not much.
Real or kayfabe, Cena will be ready for the battle against the Rock on April 1 at WrestleMania 28.
