With my James Laurinaitis painting in the final "touch-up" stages, I've already started planning for my next project. After much deliberation, I've settled on a painting of baseball's #1 prospect, Matt Wieters. With a lot of help from sports photographer Rodger Wood, I've had a lot of great photos to choose from, and have actually settled on a "montage" piece this time. The painting will be 16"x20", featuring an "old school" Orioles logo, his initials (replicating this initials that appear on his chest protector and catching gear), and then 2 images of Wieters. One image, the main image, features Wieters in his catching gear and is based on an amazing photo from Future Star Photos. The other image is an "action" swinging pose of Wieters, provided by Rodger Wood of Wood Sports Photography. Below, you can see a "composite" picture of the project. Obviously, as a painting, it's almost impossible to recreate every element as originally planned in a picture, but I'll do my best.
I'll try and upload some photos on here once I get the pre-paint drawing going, so you can see the project starting to take shape. Thanks for checking out my work!
