Matthew Hayden Sought by Glamorgan
Glamorgan are planning a bid to lure Matthew Hayden out of retirement.
Having just retired from cricket, the Welsh county are trying to get Hayden back playing for them this summer.
Hayden, 37, announced his retirement the other day, having played professionally for 17 years. In that time he played in a total of 107 test matches and 161 one day international matches, averaging 43.3.
Glamorgan, who already have Herchelle Gibbs for the opening three months of the season, are looking for someone to cover him for the rest of the season and find Hayden as the suitable replacement.
Hayden will be playing in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings for the first three months, so he will have the practise and fitness to continue at county level.
I personally think Hayden would be an asset to any team. With the experience he has in all forms of the game, the younger generation at Glamorgan would benefit greatly from having a true great play alongside them.
