The East Region has a chance to achieve an unusual distinction in today’s NCAA tournament action. With six higher seeds having won yesterday, there’s a real chance that all eight favorites will advance to Boston.

Cincinnati kept the higher seeds rolling by holding off a desperate Texas comeback in the opener. St. Bonaventure was the last hope for an upset in this section of the bracket, but after a valiant effort, the 14th-seeded Bonnies came up just short.

Here’s the final tally for this afternoon’s games from Nashville:

No. 6 Cincinnati 65, No. 11 Texas 59

No. 3 Florida State 66, No. 14 St. Bonaventure 63
