Hailing from Cambridge Ontario, Scott Thorman has literally done it all. From being the No. 30 pick in the 2000 draft by the Atlanta Braves, reaching the major leagues in 2006 and representing his country in the 2006 World Baseball Classic and 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Thorman is the ultimate Canadian ambassador.

Thorman spent six of his 10 professional seasons in Triple-A with the Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers, Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers' organizations. In that time, he batted .272 in nearly 600 games with 95 home runs and 341 RBI. The most prolific season of his MLB career came in 2007 when he played in 120 games for the Braves going deep 11 times in 287 at-bats.

Signing with the Winnipeg Goldeyes will only raise the profile of the one of the most popular and successful Independent franchises in North America.

The Goldeyes have been named Organization of Year six out of the last nine years and have an average game day attendance of 5,740, ranked 35th out of 350 affiliated Independent and summer collegiate baseball teams in North America.
