It is official. Even with many sources saying he was heading to Gannassi-Earnhardt's No. 8 car, Bobby Labonte has struck a deal with Hall of Fame Racing to drive their No. 96 car through the 2009 season.
Hall of Fame earlier today announced they are teaming up with Yates racing, in a deal that is expected to move the team from Gibbs Toyotas, to the Yates Fords. According to NASCAR.com, there will be a formal announcement Wednesday.
Bobby Labonte was the Champion of the Cup Series in 2000, and is with no question the most talented driver to ever drive the 96 car (no offense to Tony Raines and J.J. Yeley).
