Real Magic? Orlando's Great Start

With all the buzz in the Eastern Conference focused around the Cavaliers and Celtics, Orlando has quietly climbed into the number two spot above Boston and just a step down from Cleveland. With a convincing win against the veteran Spurs last night and the recent stellar play of Jameer Nelson the Magic have put themselves in the conversation of serious title contenders.

Led by Dwight Howard and the very underrated Hedo Turkoglu, Orlando has climbed up the rankings at 30-8. People still question if the Magic are the real deal but with a whupping of New Orleans on Christmas day, two solid victories over the Spurs, and a nail biting win over the Lakers, Orlando has continued to silence doubters.

Howard continues to play solid leading the league in blocks and rebounds and Turkoglu doing a little of everything Orlando has their stars but its the rest of the Magic squad stepping it up for the team. Rashard Lewis is averaging 19 points and as of late Jameer Nelson has been playing like he never left college. Nelson has been extremely aggressive shooting 50.4 percent from the field and almost 44 percent from three. Nelsons aggression has translated to the rest of the team as the bench is starting to contribute.

So with Superman and his sidekicks rolling and the occasional JJ Redick sighting, watch out NBA the Magic are no act.
