As much as U.S. National Team fans have missed Stuart Holden, no one has missed him as much as Bolton. Without their midfield engine, Owen Coyle's side have stumbled through the Premier League season and find themselves in a five-team fight against relegation.

Bolton hearts will soar at the news that Holden is nearing a return to the Wanderers. The ever-optimistic player posted this to his Twitter account (@stuholden) yesterday afternoon:

"Up and at it for another double day!! last couple weeks here and back to the UK to be w/ the #bwfcfamily again!!"

After two rehab stretches spanning almost a year, no one can predict what impact Holden will have when he eventually returns to the field. But if he has any doubts, Holden is hiding them well as you can see in his periodic video updates from rehab.

U.S. supporters will also be interested in Holden's update later that evening. Seems he's got a new rehab buddy. Along with the picture heading this article, Holden posted:

"My workout partner today! Icing with my Clemson tiger big brother !! @OguchiOnyewu5 !!! #USMNT on the way back!"

Onyewu is expected back on the field toward the end of April. There is still no set timetable for Holden's return to action.
