Early this morning Montreal traded Cristobal Huet to the Washington Capitals in return for a 2009 second round pick (previously acquired from Anaheim).  This leaves 20-year-old Carey Price as the Canadiens’ No. 1 goaltender.

Jaroslav Halak was recalled by the Canadiens during an early morning practice in Hamilton to back-up Price tonight against Atlanta.  With Price and Halak anchoring the net in Montreal, the Canadiens will be relying on two goaltenders with no playoff experience at all.

Price is the third starter for the Canadiens in the last three seasons.

In other news, it is rumored that Marian Hossa will go to Montreal in return for Michael Ryder and possibly Maxim Lapierre and Mikhail Grabovski, who was recalled from Hamilton after the Huet trade.
