La Liga resumes this weekend with only 12 games remaining. The real battles in the league right now are for European spots and in the relegation zone.

There is still a lot of time for things to change as teams like Atletico Madrid and Sevilla still try to climb up the table.

Here are the predictions for Round 26 of La Liga.

Malaga vs. Levante

Both these teams have two straight wins heading into a very important game. Levante has held on to a European spot since the first few games of the season, but a loss or even a draw here could see them begin to slip down the table.

Malaga's plan was to get into a European spot, and they are in position right now. A win against Levante would certainly help solidify that position.

Prediction: Malaga win 3-2

Real Sociedad vs. Real Zaragoza

Zaragoza picked up a rare win last weekend to inch within three points of 19th placed Sporting Gijon. It's difficult to see them repeating the feat against Real Sociedad at home.

Prediction: Real Sociedad win 1-0

Sporting Gijon vs. Sevilla

Sevilla has underperformed this season, but they have the quality to get some positive results during the final stretch of league games. Sporting has to try and gain all the points it can at home to climb out of the relegation zone.

Prediction: Draw 2-2

Real Betis vs. Real Madrid

Real Betis is solid at home, but they face a Real Madrid team that can smell the title. While they may not get blown away, it's unlikely they will get anything positive from this game.

Prediction: Real Madrid win 2-0

Espanyol vs. Rayo Vallecano

Rayo Vallecano is surprisingly in eighth place at the moment. Though three positions separate them, they are only one point ahead of Espanyol.

Prediction: Espanyol win 2-1

Atletico Madrid vs. Granada CF

Atletico Madrid has the quality to be doing a lot better than it is right now and should win this home game against Granada.

Prediction: Atletico Madrid win 2-0

Valencia vs. Mallorca

Valencia still has a pretty good hold on third place, and while Mallorca will put up a tough fight, this team is in third place for a reason.

Prediction: Valencia win 2-0

Racing Santander vs. Barcelona

Barcelona will try to keep winning and hope for a miracle to change their fortunes in the league. Racing Santander is three points away from getting out of the relegation zone, but considering the opposition, a draw would be a good result.

Prediction: Barcelona win 3-1

Osasuna vs. Athletic Bilbao

Osasuna is only two points behind Athletic Bilbao, and with a solid home record, they might feel they can get all three points. Athletic Bilbao hasn't lost in its last three games, and they do have the quality to overcome their opposition.

Prediction: Athletic Bilbao win 3-1

Villarreal vs. Getafe

Both these teams have underperformed this season. A loss last week for both sides has made their positions in the league, especially Villarreal's, a little more dangerous. The home team gets the nod here.

Prediction: Villarreal win 1-0
