Stoke winger Jermaine Pennant has been seen drinking as late as 5am on the day of a Premier League fixture, according to a Sky Sports report.

He has been fined for his actions once more and this is just another occurrence involving drink and Pennant to add to the list.

The ex-Arsenal youth player has recently been involved in two breaches of discipline.

During the month of December, Stoke City was set to play Everton in an away fixture. Pennant broke the club's curfew after leaving the hotel they were staying in after hours and heading to a local nightclub.

It was this incident that saw the winger dropped from the squad that faced the Toffees that day.

He was also involved in a separate incident that came before Stoke City’s F.A. Cup tie against Crawley Town.

These breaches in discipline are sure to leave a strain on the relationship between Pennant and Stoke manager Tony Pulis.

Pulis said, "Anything I do with players, it is between me and the players, but there are no problems."

This is a player who has been jailed before for a drink driving offence. It is time for Pennant to take a long look in the mirror and take his career more seriously.

The player who came on as a substitute during their match against Norwich City on the weekend denied that there was a rift between him and Pulis.

Is Pennant really worth all the trouble? Or should he be let go in the summer?
