Defending Champs Are Done!

Svyato RovenchukSenior Writer IJanuary 11, 2009

It's official—the New York Giants are out of the playoffs.

The Philadelphia Eagles were just too strong for the defending champs. A great game from Donovan McNabb was the key to a victory and he did not disappoint. Even though the Eagles took down the Giants, I wouldn't call them contenders. No disrespect to the Eagles but there are still better teams out there.

At this point I would say that the winner of the ChargersSteelers game would be the strongest team out there. The Eagles will have a chance as long as they have a few things: a good defense, a good running game, and consistency from Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook.

So now with the defending champs out, the title of Super Bowl champs is up for grabs. I personally am cheering for the San Diego Chargers as they are my favorite team. Super Bowl 43 is going to be a good one!
