The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Jazz forward Carlos Boozer had a normal “garden variety” arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Friday. Boozer, who has been out since mid-November, is expected to be out another four weeks, which would put his possible return for the Jazz after the All-Star break.

Utah has tried to remain in the playoff hunt without Boozer this season, going 14 -10 since the injury. Paul Millsap has stepped in and played like an All-Star himself in Boozer’s absence, and many Jazz fans prefer the underpaid underdog in Millsap over the former Duke standout.

Currently sitting at 22 -15, the Jazz are 2.5 games out of the playoffs, trailing the Suns for the eighth seed. With Boozer not due to return until after the All-Star break, will the Jazz make the playoffs this season?
