William Regal is one of the greatest technical wrestlers in history, and he's no slouch when it comes to commentating on matches as well.
He is also proud of his British heritage, and when it comes to his home country of England, Regal would make short work of anyone that dared insult his roots.
The Rock may be the next victim of Regal’s patriotic wrath. On his official Twitter account, Regal made some fiery comments regarding the Rock and comments he made on last night's Raw.
Regal said the following:
“A lot of British bashing by The Rock on #Raw.He wants to not worry so much about John Cena and worry about getting a dry slap from me.”
Throughout his career in professional wrestling, Regal has used his love for his native England for various gimmicks.
In World Championship Wrestling, William Regal was known as, “Lord” Steven Regal, and claimed he was a direct descendant of William The Conqueror.
He was also half of the tag-team “The Bluebloods” with “Squire” Dave Taylor, and was successful within that promotion.
After WCW folded in 2001, Regal continued to use his British pride in the WWE, and is a master at drawing heat from the American fans.
No one knows if Regal’s comments were in fact a work or a shoot, but rest assured this could make for an interesting future feud between The Rock and William Regal.
