It's been reported that Tracy Rocker is in talks about joining the Auburn Tiger defensive staff.

Many Auburn fans remember Rocker as the dominant defensive lineman in the '80s, but he's also known for his coaching ability. He is currently the defensive line coach for Ole Miss and was at the same position at Arkansas for half a decade before this previous season.

He won the Lombardi and Outland trophies while playing at Auburn and is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Before coaching at Ole Miss and Arkansas, he coached at Cincinnati and Troy.

This would be a great addition to the staff Gene Chizik has put together at Auburn.

UPDATE: 1/12/09

Rocker is headed to the plains. Anothr solid hire for the Tigers.
