The Durham County Sheriff's department has officially been notified. Duke's Andre Dawkins is missing!

They were busy doing real police work, so I completed my own Sherlock Holmes investigation and came up empty handed. Unfortunately Coach K, his staff and every Duke fan on earth can't find Andre Dawkins.

On the season Dawkins has shown that he can be one of the most dangerous shooters in the country. Four different times he has scored more than 20 points in a game, 13 times reached double digits and has been extremely important to several key wins for this team.

Additionally, he has also shown that he can be a world champion Hide and Seek player. He has been held scoreless in 4 games, scored in single digits 18 times, and has often times struggled to get his shot off.

In his four scoreless games he shot a combined eight shots.  0-8 over the span of four game is bad, but failing to shoot the ball is inexcusable. He shot more than eight shots on 10 different occasions.  He simply seems to be okay with fading away and not shooting.

Earlier in the season I wrote an article entitled Andre Dawkins:  Duke's Disappearing Devil, in it I chronicled the fact that Dawkins was an extremely important piece to this team, and without him they would be in trouble.

Dawkins has basically put himself into Marty Pocious, Lee Melchioni or Chris Carrawell land. While all three had the benefit of playing with a true superstar, Dawkins does not and this team can't afford for him to completely take games off.

Andre Dawkins has scored a combined three points in his last three games. He is 1-7 in this stretch and hasn't been able to insert himself in any form or fashion.

Later in the week the conference will invade Atlanta for the annual Duke Invitational. Otherwise known as the ACC Tourney, Duke has owned it over the last 13 years by winning it 10 times. If Duke is going to win it this time they need Andre to step up and assert himself into the swing of things.

If I was Coach K I would MAKE Dre shoot the ball five times. 0-5 is not very good, but lets be honest...It is no different than going 0-0.

If Dawkins can't step up and act like the junior he is, then this team may be looking to an early March departure and implosion of a very talented roster.
