Josh Thomson made his anticipated return to the cage against the great striker K.J. Noons, and didn't seem to take a step back.

After having to pull out of his last fight due to injury, Thomson made a strong return with an absolutely dominating ground performance against Noons.

For three rounds, Thomson held Noons to the canvas and took home the unanimous decision victory.

Thomson still looks good after his layoff. Afterwards, Thomson was very critical of his performance and knew his performance could have been better.

What's Next for Noons

Noons drops down in the lightweight division now. Luckily for him, the division is kind of shallow. Maybe a rematch with Jorge Masvidal could be in order.

Thomson will get a shot against Gilbert Melendez. An epic war between the two is sure to happen, as their last two fights have been hugely entertaining. Let's hope Thomson doesn't have another bad outing in the cage.
