Hull City's one-time hero Dean Windass has finally got his wish of first-team football.
Unfortunately for Mr. Windass, this means a loan spell with Coca Cola League One outfit Oldham Athletic.
The 39-year-old Hull-born striker has accepted an offer from the Boundary park boss John Sheridan to help them in the push for automatic promotion to the Championship.
Windass and his agent are in the process of ironing out a possible 18-month permenent deal with the Lancashire team that currently sit in fifth place in the English third tier.
Windass will join his former Middlesborough teammate Mark Crossley, who is under contract at Oldham, but he will have to wait to see if he can make his Oldham debut, as the Boundary Park pitch is awaiting a referees' inspection due to the snowy conditions.
