Yankees Swindle the Pirates: BR5 100% Inaccurate Reenactment

In a surprising move this offseason, the Yankees finally managed to unload beleaguered big-leaguer, A.J. Burnett to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Bucks, with a payroll $150 million less than the Yankees', needed Burnett to pan out for them even though New York absorbed more than half his contract.

Shortly after joining the Pirates, Burnett bunted a ball into his own eye during spring training. He now needs surgery to repair his broken orbital bone and will likely miss his two to three months.

Yankee haters and conspiracy theorists are clambering to pin this mishap on "The Evil Empire." First, for supposedly suckering the Pirates into taking Burnett off their hands and second, for presumably knowing somehow that he would bunt a batting-practice fastball into his own eye.

BR5's "100% Inaccurate Reenactment" is attempting to re-create the conversation that might have occurred between Pittsburgh management and the Steinbrenners just prior to this lopsided deal.
